Rev Principal Michael McClenahan

Michael McClenahan is Professor of Systematic Theology at Union.

Iā€™m particularly interested in discussing projects on the context, life, thought, and legacy of Jonathan Edwards (1703ā€“1758), modern Trinitarian theology (anyone from Karl Barth onwards, except Paul Tillich), and the religious culture of Victorian England. More generally I am happy to consider projects in Reformed theology and ethics broadly defined. I have recently had two doctoral students complete their research. One wrote a dissertation on Samuel Rutherford and the covenant of redemption, another offered a dogmatic defence of the doctrine of eternal generation of the Son of God.
