Scholarships to attend The International John Owen Convention

Academic Conference: New Directions in John Owen Studies (24-25 June 2024)
General Conference: John Owen: Theology for Life and Ministry (26 June 2024)

This is a two-part convention: a two-day academic conference geared to scholars working in a variety of disciplines complemented by a one-day conference exploring the relevance of Owen studies for the contemporary church.

We are pleased to be able to offer ten scholarships to help postgraduate students living outside Northern Ireland attend the conference. 

These ten scholarships provide the following:

Single-room accommodation for up to five nights (Saturday night 22 June to Thursday morning 27 June) in Derryvolgie Hall (a ten-minute walk from the College)

Continental breakfast in Union College dining room

All conference fees, including lunch and breaks (£75)

Conference dinner (£30)

In order to be eligible for consideration you must satisfy the following criteria:  

You are registered as a masters or PhD student in a relevant subject

You are able to provide a reference from either your programme coordinator or supervisor

You must not normally be resident in Northern Ireland

 In order to apply you need to:

 Submit a single PDF document which includes a 200-word summary of why the conference would be beneficial to your postgraduate research and a reference from your supervisor and/or programme coordinator

 The PDF should be saved with your full name as its title

Submit the document via your institutional email address to johnowen@union.ac.uk

Applications must be submitted by 21 February 2024 and, if successful, you will be informed by 28 February 2024.
